Nobility crown SerraldeEste apellido es muy extendido en la penísula con numerosas casas solariegas. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en las celebraciones de 1221 con motivo de la colocación de la primera piedra de la Catedral de Burgos por D. Fernando, rey de Castilla llamado el Santo. Las referencias de esta familia parecen precisarse con más frecuencia desde el siglo XV al XIX en especial los hechos de las huestes de los tercios de Nápoles, mandados por D. Fernando de Toledo duque de Alba, que ostigaron en 1557 a las tropas del Duque de Guisa que fueron derrotas sin presentar batalla y obligadas a retirarse otra vez a Francia con deshonra y oprobio. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Serralde. Son sus armas: En gules, cinco veneras, de oro, puestas en aspa. Bordura de azur, con cuatro cruces, de oro. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia S., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales. Los esmaltes del arma de los S. pregonan los siguientes valores: el Gules es el símbolo de la fuerza, del poder, del amor ferviente a Dios y al prójimo, tal es el significado de este esmalte, a lo que habría que añadir el afán de dominio, el coraje, la audacia, la fortaleza y la magnanimidad, un alto porcentaje de este tipo de escudos familiares se dieron por actos de guerra. ...
