Si tramanda, sulla scorta di antiche carte, che essa fiorisse già nel XII secolo, epoca in cui fioriva un Guido Tallandini. Alcuni suoi discendenti si segnalarono per ardite imprese nelle funeste fazioni che si combattevano in Bagnacavallo, altri si dedicarono in servigio della patria.
