La noblesse de cette maison a été confirmée en 1707, et l'un de ses membres, Both Thauzia, député par le conseil municipale de Bordeaux pour annoncer au roi Louis XVIII la soumission de la ville à son autorité, reçut à cette occasion de Sa Majesté le titre de vicomte. Le chevalier de Tauzia de Litterie, ancien officier de dragons, épousa le 5 novembre 1805, Mlle de Briançon. C'est de ce mariage qu'est provenu M. Gustave de Tauzia-Litterie, marié le 6 avril 1847, avec Mlle de Madaillan-Montataire. Une demoiselle de Tauzia de Flosègues épousa, le 8 juillet 1813, le baron de Briançon. Le nom de Tauzia se trouve dans la liste des votants de l'Ordre de la Noblesse, en 1789, à Sainte-Foix, à Bazas et Castelmoron.
