En documentos de la Nobleza Ejecutoriada de Navarra se encuentran bastantes referencias a este linaje y a sus casas y ramas en aquella región, pero en forma muy confusa y salteada que requiere algunas aclaraciones. De esas noticias se deduce que los U. tuvieron su origen y primitivo solar en el pequeño lugar de Urra, cuyo nombre tomaron por apellido, fundando allí el palacio de cabo de armería. Dicho lugar pertenece al Ayuntamiento de la villa de Amescoa Baja, del partido judicial de Estella, y del mencionado solar y palacio se derivó la rama que levantó nueva casa solariega llamada Basterra, o Basterrecoa, en el lugar de Lezaún, del Ayuntamiento de Yerri, en el mismo partido judicial y de la que procedieron las líneas avecindadas en los lugares de Murillo, Lorca, Arizaleta y Rieza, también del Ayuntamiento de Yerri; en los de Irurre y Serate, del Ayuntamiento de Guesalar y partido de Estella; en el lugar de Vitoria y en la villa de Dicastillo, de aquel partido, y en la de Vidaurreta, del partido judicial de Pamplona. Descendientes de esa rama fueron reconocidos en su nobleza por los Tribunales Reales de Corte y Consejo de Navarra en los años 1535, 1559, 1662, 1691, 1775 y 1794, obteniendo las correspondientes cartas ejecutorias. ...
