Famiglia originaria di Parma, la quale fu nobilitata da Pietro Zainardi, nato a Parma il 22 ottobre 1760 e morto il 5 dicembre 1829. Questi nel 1787 insegnò nelle facoltà di giurisprudenza nella patria università, coprì varie cariche, finché nel settembre del 1800 fu nominato Presidente del Supremo Consiglio di Giustizia di Piacenza; poi consigliere di Stato e presidente del Tribunale di Revisione. Fu membro dell'Accademia Italiana di Pisa e di quella di Belle Arti di Parma; venne insignito della Commenda dell'Ordine Costantiniano di San Giorgio. Il figlio Ignazio, conservatore dell'ufficio delle Ipoteche di Parma, ottenne da Maria Luigia, richiamandosi al decreto del 22 gennaio 1777 con cui D.
