Tuvo casas este apellido en la anteiglesia de Ceánuri, del partido de Durango (Vizcaya), y en el Valle de Oyarzun, del partido de San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa). De la primera de las citadas casas fué Juan de Z. Inchaurbe, casado con doña Francisca de Astondoa, a la que hizo madre de Juan de Z. y Astondoa, que casó con doña Josefa de Gortázar Ibarreta, y fueron padres de José Urbano de Z. y Gortázar, que celebrño su enlace con doña Antonia de Ocerín y procrearon a José y Pedro Antonio de Z. y Ocerín, bautizados en Ceánuri el 23 de Noviembre de 1748, y y el 10 de Junio de 1750, que fueron vecinos de Santander y El Ferrol, respectivamente, y en 18 de Mayo de 1831 obtuvieron Real provisión de vizcainía en la Chancillería de Valladolid. El 27 de Agosto de 1744 se concedió el título de Conde de Torrealta, cancelándole el que venía disfrutando de Vizconde del Cerro del Pinar, a Gabriel de Z.
