Oriunda aus Venedig ließ sich zur Zeit Karls I. von Anjou in Venosa nieder, dann in Corigliano, von wo er im frühen 16. Jahrhundert nach Cosenza verpflanzte. Er besaß neun Baronien, darunter Cirò, Calopezzati und Martirano, die Carlo selbst erhalten hatte. Er hatte mehrere Ritter im Gerosolimitano-Orden, und einer von ihnen, Marzio, war Prior von Pisa, Großkreuz und Admiral der Galeeren von Malta. Ein Nicolò A. wurde 1227 in Mauretanien für den katholischen Glauben gemartert und zu Ehren der Altäre erhoben.
