En Guipúzcoa y en Vizcaya. Juan Ibáñez de A. y su hijo Juan López de A., eran vecinos de Tolosa (Guipúzcoa), en 1346. En Vizcaya tuvieron los de este apellido casa solar en la anteiglesia de Santa María de Mallabia, del partido judicial de Marquina, y de ella fué Juan de A., esposo de doña María Icaza de Goitana, y ambos padres de Juan de A. Icaza, fundador del mayorazgo de A. en dicha anteiglesia, que casó con doña María Apoita, y procrearon a Catalina de A. Apoita, y Juan de A. Apoita, que sigue. Este Juan de A. Apoita casó con doña Josefa Batarrita, naciendo de esta unión: Juana de A. Batarrita, esposa de Juan Domingo Amillategui. María Andrés de A. Batarrita, casada con Domingo Garitaonaindia, y Josefa A. Batarrita, mujer de Juan Domingo A. Estas dos últimas litigaron el citado mayorazgo de A. en 1831.
