A linha genealógica rigorosamente documentada dessa família ilustre e muito antiga (cuja origem remontou em Landulfo de Abignente, Sarnensis, que defendeu a torre Francolisi no século 11), remonta a Stefanello Abignente, que viveu na segunda metade do século 14 e aos princípios a seguir. Ele possuía in capita na Reginali Curia, além dos feudos herdados de seus majores, um feudo nas aparições da cidade de Sarno, da qual o pergaminho original é preservado na família. Outro feudo foi o de Filippuccio, cuja menção é feita na R. Chamber of the Summary n. 1979 vol. 198, preservado no R. Archivio di Stato em Nápoles. Francesco, conhecido como Stefanello, foi um dos nobres enviados da cidade de Sarno para homenagear a lealdade à rainha Giovanna II em 1419 (Arquivo da família.
