La famiglia é nota da tempo in Toscana e precisamente a Firenze nel XVI secolo. Baccio fu letterato e noto fra gli "Umidi" col nome di "Pantanoso". Pubblicò la traduzione dell'Odissea fatta in versi sciolti da suo fratello Girolamo. Liberato Giovanni, nato il 18 novembre 1872 e morto il 21 ottobre 1835, fu chierico regolare delle Scuole Pie a Lucca e prof. di fisica nell'Ateneo di Bologna; Matteo (1769 - 1850) fu pittore di fortuna. Lavorò nell'Accademia di S. Luca a Roma fino al 1803; insegnò pittura in Polonia ove sono la maggior parte delle sue opere; Bartolomeo di Piero, detto il Baccellino, visse nel XVI secolo e fu scultore valente. Lavorò col figlio Pietro nella Cattedrale di Arezzo e fu il primo a sbozzare in grossi blocchi di marmo di Carrara; Guido, nato il 25 novembre 1832 fu il celebre clinico di fama mondiale.
