Famiglia originaria di Gubbio, diramata in Roma, Firenze ed altrove, patrizia romana. Ebbe un Ottavio Vescovo di Fossombrone nel 1589 ed un Giuseppe che fu Cardinale nel 1743. E' celebre per beltà, sventure ed eletto ingegno Vittoria Accaramboni che fu moglie di Felice Peretti, nipote di Sisto V, e quindi di Paolo Orsini. Di questa celebre famiglia un ramo à fiorito in Tolentino, ed un altro in Roma. Un Accorimbono di Giovanni, dopo essere stato podestà di Firenze nel 1324, 26 e 36, fu per qualche tempo signore di Tolentino, dove fu ucciso nel 1340, ed i di lui figli Odrighello e Gaddo si rifugiarono in Gubbio e vi fondarono due tronchi distinti della loro famiglia. Girolamo di Filipppo, sommo scienziato, archiatro di Leone X, di Clemente VII e di Paolo III, ottenuta da quest'ultimo pontefice nel 1537 la cittadinanza romana, divenne il fondatore della principesca famiglia degli Accoramboni di
