Fu trapianta da Firenze a Bologna dal celebre glossatore Accursio o Accorso che quivi insegnò per 40 anni il diritto e morì ottuagenario nel 1260. I suoi figli, Francesco, Guglielmo e Cervolto, seguirono le orme paterne ed insegnarono anch'essi nello studio di Bologna e fuori d'Italia. Molti di questa famiglia furono anziani e possedettero due torri in Bologna, delle quali è rimarchevole quella che il glossatore possedeva sulla piazza maggiore, e che ora è detta dell'Orologio. Altro ramo. La famiglia vanta la discendenza del celebre glossatore Accorso insegnante di diritto a Bologna e mortovi nel 1260. Altri elementi dottrinari e giuristi trassero i natali dagli Accursi, i quali furono anziani ed in Bologna possedettero due torri.
