L'esodo degli abitanti di Tortona imposto dalle condizioni di resa (17 aprile 1155) dopo il memorabile assedio di Federico Barbarossa indusse gli A. a ritirarsi a Serravalle (Annali, I, 168; Uomini Illustri, 161); ritornarono in patria dopo alcuni decenni segnalati da unPietro de Aquabella che il 26 agosto 1198 giura unitamente a molti tortonesi l'osservanza dei capitoli di pace proposti dai consoli di Pavia per dirimere le vertenze insorte tra Genova e Tortona (Chartarium 109); in Pozzolasca, Guglielmo è teste in atto del 10 settembre 1203 con cui il marchese Guglielmo di Monferrato elegge un procuratore per investire Sezzè (ora Sezzadio) agli alessandrini (Cartario alessandrino, II, 72); consoli e consiglieri tra i quali Giovanni, il 12 e 17 marzo 1218 giurano di osservare gli accordi stipulati tra i comuni di Tortona e Genova (Chartarium, 135); Palmerio, anch'egli consigliere, il 6 gennario 1235 delibera la nomina di Lantelmo di Casei
