Oriunda de Grecia, Constantine Alidosi, senador y escriba del emperador Justiniano, lo trasplantó a Italia y lo estableció en la ciudad de Imola, de la cual desde 1272 hasta 1424 tuvo el mando soberano. Ella era la dama de muchos feudos, de Castelrio, Massa, Fornione, Fossignano, Fontana y otros. De sus muchos hombres ilustres, un Carlo, un Lipo, un Guglielmo fueron obispos de Imola: un obispo de Alidosio en 1332, un Riccardo dos veces senador Romano y un arzobispo de Bolonia Francesco di Giovani, vinculado al lado de Julio II y el cardenal .
