Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, docteur ès lois en 1378; Jean, fils Guillaume, de la ligue des seigneurs contre les Penthièvre en 1420, épouse Olive de Bodégat, dont Jean marié à Marie de Montauban, conseiller du duc et maître-d'hôtel d'Alain de Rohan, qui lui donna la garde naturelle de ses enfants, Jean et Catherine de Rohan. Il laissa trois fils: René, attaché à la maison de Jean II, vicomte de Rohan, et amant de Catherine de Rohan, sa sœur, massacré par les gens du vicomte en 1479; Alain, homme d'armes dans une montre de 1473; Jean, père de Bertand, seigneur de Neuvillette, époux en 1510 de Gillette Hay, dame du Breil. La branche aînée fondue en 1655 dans Lantivy.
