Illustre ed antica casata, derivata dalla famiglia fiorentina dei Gianfigliazzi, che fu importata a Gubbio da Corso di Adimaro. Nel 1499 Lodovido Agaleazzi, fu gonfaloniere di giustizia, e dopo di lui altri di questa casa sostennero la stessa carica fino quasi a tutto il XVII secolo. Salvatore fu podestà di Mantova per undici anni, dal 1532 al 1543, e poi di nuovo nel 1557. Furono capitani Vincenzo nel 1571, Ottaviano nel 1609 e Galeazzo nel 1640. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia dell'Emilia Romagna con residenza nella città di Bologna. Da molto tempo non sono pervenute più notizie della suddetta stirpe. Si annoverano, tuttavia, tra i vari illustri personaggi di tale famiglia, l'artista cinquecentesco Agostino Agaleazzi, ed il figlio Giovan Battista (1550-1610), autore della "Madonna del rosario", sita nella parrocchia di S.Michele.
