Originating from the Dauphiné, the family already mentioned dates from the thirteenth century with feudal possessions in Vallonise, in the Brianzonese area. On 11 April 1352, Luigi Agnese, progenitor of the living branch, paid homage of loyalty to the Delfino per oris osculum, according to the custom of the nobles. The first of the lineage that had feudal lordship in the Savoy states was the lawyer Giorgio, invested with Fenile (20 June 1757) with baronial title. He was succeeded by his son Giovanni who added Mattie (11 June 1773) to the barony of Fenile and then for the dotal reasons of his wife, Cristina Boutal, the county of Pinasca Inverso. Among the most illustrious contemporary personalities, the major general Giuseppe, who fell victim to the military uprisings of 1821 in Turin, and the admiral Giorgio, minister of state, knight of merit of Savoy (30 November 1831), knight of the Annunciation
