A tradição, reunida nos documentos da Comunidade Finale, de que a família Agnini se originou em Nápoles, da qual ela teria começado na época da revolução de Tomaso Aniello, chamada Masaniello. O certo é que, no final de 1600, ele se estabeleceu no Final na pessoa de um certo Paolo del fu Agnelo ou Agnello, cuja descendência assumiu o sobrenome Agnini. O Paolo nomeado por seus méritos conseguiu ser agregado à cidadania do Finale e registrado na categoria de Conservadores. A concessão do nobre da Finale foi concedida a Giovanni e Stefano Agnini pela comunidade Finale em 22 de dezembro de 1820. Outra filial. Família de Fivizzano, onde, desde 1633, gozou das primeiras honras e do judiciário: obteve a inscrição da nobreza de Pontremoli (homem e mulher) na pessoa de Francesco di Ginesio, por decreto de 4 de fevereiro de 1781.
