Giaime gentilhuomo Catalano che venne in Sicilia col Re Pietro di Aragona nel 1282 e si casò in Messina con Candietta figlia di Luigi d'Asano gentilhuomo di quella Città, e n'acquistò Alfonso, Arnaldo, e Pietro d'Alfonso ne pervenne Giaime ch'ebbe per moglie Alvira figlia di Corrado Aldigieri, la cui famiglia viveva in quei tempi nobilissima in Messina, che gli generò Alonso, e Pietro, ma passando alle seconde nozze con Mutia la Matina figlia di Guglielmo n'acquistò il feudo delli Faverchi; però non havendo casata con Antonio di Arena di Palermo, e litigando per quello con la Corte n'ottenne tre sentenze conformi, ed ai prieghi di Alonso e Pietro di Agramonte nepoti, ed alunni del Re Alfonso, gli fu dal Re posto perpertua silentio, e fiorì così in Messina come in Palermo nobilmente. Faceva ella per arme un Monte d'argento pieno di balze verdi in campo
