El progenitor de esta familia era un Domenico, de baja condición, nativo de S. Giorgio nella Lomellina y empleado en el servicio de los establos de Corte en Milán. Por haber descubierto una conspiración en detrimento del duque Filippo Maria en 1415, recibió muchos activos como premio y se le otorgaron el apellido y el arma de la familia. Luego dejó el apellido Aicardi, y sus descendientes siempre llevaron el de V. De él nació Bartolomeo, quien en 1429 fue elegido obispo de Novara por Martino V; Alessandro capitán de hombres al servicio de los duques de Milán; Andrea Castellano di Carimate en 1430, luego adscrita en 1450 a los decuriones de Novara; y Giorgio, quien del duque Filippo-Maria en 1415 tenía muchos activos en Zelada con un puerto en el Tesino, llamado Parasacco, luego compró muchos activos en Riozzo, y más tarde, eligió a la familia ducal e ingresó
