Antica ed assai nota famiglia lombarda da Cremona che dette molti Decurioni e parecchi senatori alla patria, altri appartennero al Nobile Collegio dei Giureconsulti ed altri al Collegio dei Nobili Fisici. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal XVIII secolo, e ne fu erede la famiglia Visconti di Milano che perciò porta il nome di Visconti-Aimi. Riporta il Calvi nella sua opera intitolata "Il Patriziato Milanese", stampato in Milano, dal Borroni nel 1875. Varie sono le opinioni circa l'origine di questa famiglia. Si trovano memorie certe di essa verso la metà del secolo XIII. Ha goduto nobiltà in numerose città Lombarde. Altra famiglia. Estinta nel XVIII secolo, e ne fu erede la famiglia Visconti di Milano che perciò porta il nome di Visconti-Aimi.
