Die Familie Emo zog 997 von Vicenza nach Venedig. Sein Name war Aimus, später bei Aimo unter Vertrag genommen und im Volksmund Emo genannt und als solcher im fünfzehnten Jahrhundert auch in öffentlichen Dokumenten akzeptiert. Eine Aimus-Familie war zur Zeit des Augustus in Padua, und nichts hindert uns daran, die Tradition zu akzeptieren, dass die Aimus-Familie aus Vicenza, die reich an Waren in Paduan und Polenise war, dieselbe war, die vor der Zerstörung durch die Hunnen in Padua lebte. Im XII Jahrhundert war ein Aimus namens Anterpiano, bekannt als Rodigino, ein kaiserlicher General, während Giovanni und Rigo in Venedig unter den Adligen von Consiglio erschienen und Giorgio und Alvise Kapitäne der venezianischen Armee waren. 1297 wurde die Familie mit Pantaleo Aimo unter den venezianischen Patriziern registriert. Folgendes wurde berichtet: Pietro, Ritter, Verteidiger von Chioggia im Jahre 1379; Giovanni, Ritter, Generaldirektor auf dem Gebiet, der die Eroberung Polesins vollendete und 1483
