La comunità fu infeudata (28 giugno 1742) del cascinale di S. Rosalia con titolo signorile. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia originaria di Sicilia. Altro ramo. Il titolo è antichissimo, con origini non ben definite. Figura già nelle costituzioni sinodali del vescovo Andrea Novelli, stampate a Mondovi' nel 1512. In quell'epoca la diocesi e citta' d'Alba apparteneva al Monferrato, essendo noto che la cessione a Casa Savoia non avvenne che col trattato di Cherasco del 1631. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. Di rosso, al cigno d'argento passante sopra una fascia d'oro.
