Antica famiglia siciliana trasferitasi nel secolo XVI a Capua dove fece parte di quella nobiltà e dove fu forse detta Siciliano per la sua origine e provenienza da quell'isola. Guglielmo fu uno dei tredici combattenti della difesa di Barletta. Cristoforo sposò nel 1559 Costanza Fieramosca che gli portò il feudo di Romagnano. Il figlio di lui, Salvatore, ebbe confermato da Filippo II a 20 marzo 1585 il cognome di Albamonte Siciliano, la nobiltà di Capua e la concessione dello stemma sopradetto trasmissibile ai suoi discendenti. Giuseppe A. S. ebbe il titolo di conte palatino, trasmissibile, per maschi e femmine, a 20 aprile 1709. Questa famiglia fu ricevuta nell'ordine di Malta, nel 1793, nella persona di Dionisio.
