A família siciliana antiga mudou-se para Cápua no século XVI, onde fazia parte dessa nobreza e onde talvez fosse chamada siciliana por sua origem e origem daquela ilha. Guglielmo foi um dos treze lutadores da defesa de Barletta. Em 1559, Cristoforo casou-se com Costanza Fieramosca, que lhe trouxe o feudo de Romagnano. Seu filho, Salvatore, confirmou por Filipe II em 20 de março de 1585 o sobrenome de Albamonte Siciliano, a nobreza de Cápua e a concessão do mencionado brasão de armas, transmissível aos seus descendentes. Giuseppe AS tinha o título de Conde Palatino, transmissível para homens e mulheres, até 20 de abril de 1709. Esta família foi recebida na ordem de Malta, em 1793, na pessoa de Dionísio.
