Ancient family from Treviso who moved to Castelfranco with the first colony in 1199. The first of this castle family named Aromidio, who produced a succession which in the fourteenth century became part of that of the Priests. The bibliography to which we followed "Historical notes on the families of Padua, and on the monuments of the university, given a brief treatise on heraldry", printed in Padua, with the types of Minerva in 1842, refers to this being a noble and ancient family of Venetian origin, where he occupied the offices of those cities with his descendants. In ancient times, the surname was not mandatory; it was used to say and write, for example in this way: Zuane fio de Piero da Mestre. For these reasons, the Mestre family took the surname from the town close to Venice, from where it originated. The same can be said for this family.
