Familia española antigua y muy noble, con ramificaciones en Baleares y en Cataluña, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Europa. La clara nobleza de la familia se confirma por la presencia, de su blasón, en la valiosa obra "L'Armorial General", de JB Rietstap. En las Islas Baleares, la casa tenía residencia en Mallorca y Pedro Albertí (Spagna) pertenecía a esta rama, que, el 5 de junio de 1343, juró lealtad, como diputado de la ciudad de Mallorca, al Rey Don Pedro IV de Aragón. Posteriormente, hizo el mismo juramento en representación del municipio de Montuiri, el distrito judicial de Manacor. En el año 1408, el rey Martino, el día de su coronación, el caballero armado Arnaldo Albertí (Spagna), le encargó defender la isla de los ataques de los moros.
