Antica ed illustre famiglia, che nel 1311 ebbe la cittadinanza bergamasca con un Giacomo, del fu Lorenzo, e che fu iscritta al Maggior Consiglio nel 1744. Antonio, con diploma nel 13 dicembre 1757, ebbe dal duca di Parma il titolo di conte con trasmissione mascolina e fu creato, nel 1759 da Carlo IV, re delle Due Sicilie, cavaliere dell'Ordine Costantiniano. I Alborghetti, già ascritti al Maggior Consiglio di Bergamo, nel 1797 vennero riconosciuti nel titolo comitale, e furono ascritti nel Libro dei titolati per ordinanza del Magistrato dei Feudi 26 settembre 1759; mentre, con sovrana risoluzione 26 ottobre 1818, gli fu confermata l'antica nobiltà e nel 1829, il titolo di conte in persona Giordano, marito di Margherita Colleoni e padre di Nicolò (n.1824), assessore municipale.
