Famiglia oriunda di Centallo, e suddivisa nelle due linee di Bastia e di Ceva. Capo della prima fu Giovanni Pietro, il cui pronipote Giovanni Battista, che fu sostituito avvocato fiscale generale, fu infeudato di Bastia Soprana il 31 maggio 1756 e investito col titolo comitale l'11 dicembre successivo. Dalla sua consorte Barbara Vitale di Palieres, egli non ebbe prole. Capo della linea seconda fu Cosmo, fratello del citato Giovanni Pietro. Da lui nacque Domenico, che fu senatore, consigliere di Stato presidente capo del consolato di Torino, il quale ottenne R. Assenso dell'11 agosto 1752 per la vendita di porzioni di San Michele fatta al fratello della moglie Paola Lucia Ceva, col titolo dei signori del marchesato di Ceva e San Michele.
