Questa famiglia per distinguersi dall'omonima detta Bellincioni, che andarono per Sesto di Borgo, come pure da un'altra famiglia detta di Lippo, che andava per il Sesto di Pancrazio, e ancora da un'altra famiglia detti del Rosso, che passano per il Quartiere di S. Spirito, tutte tre presentemente estinte, si disse di Piazza Madonna, perche quì abitarono e abitano. Qualche Autore moderno, come è Giovanni Stringa non essendo pratico delle famiglie Fiorentine nel descrivere la Vita di Papa Clemente VIII. hà creduto questa famiglia per chiamarsi degli A., essere la medesima degli A. Conte di S. Fiora, di Soana, e di Pitigliano, opinione molto lontana dalla verià, perche questa famiglia di Madonna si chiamò del Nero, e Carucci da un'Andrea del Nero di Brunetto del Secolo del 1300 e del Secolo 1400. Cominciarono a chiamarsi così, collasciare il Cognome del Nero, e anche quello de' Carucci, come chiaramente si vede da
