Si che questa Famiglia con molta ragione si può chiamare nobilissima, e antichissima; come ancora potente, come l'attesta Ugolino Verini. Il Monaldi nel discorso, che fa dell'antiche Famiglie di Fiorenza, che avevono il Consolato nomina nel Sesto di Duomo la famiglia; onde tra le Case Consolari apparisce ancora questa Famiglia. Della cui origine non si puole nulla assicurare e, perche le Famiglie tanto antiche non possono dimostrare i loro principij in riguardo alla mancanza delle scritture di quegli antichi secoli, e non si puote dire altro, che questa fusse originaria di Fiesole in opinione degli Autori; ma parlando secondo le scritture si puote asserire, che questa fino del secolo mille
