Antichissimo e celebre casato bolognese, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatosi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia, celebre per i suoi molti membri illustri, per santità e dottrina. La tradizione rinviene il capostipite in un Pier, di Enrico, il cui figlio Rolandino fu console nel 1174, 1179 e 1181. Nobili e fieri, i Alluzzi appartennero alla consorteria dei Geremei, antagonisti dei Carbonesi, misero a scompiglio la propri patria per ben ventiquattro volte impadronendosi con la forza delle armi dei pubblici uffici. Picciola, di Alberto Alluzzi, edificò nel 1116 sui colli suburbani di Bologna la celebre chiesa di S. Maria del Monte. P. Egidio Galluzzi, che fu poi Arcivescovo di Creta, probabilmente era zio della Beata Imelda Lambertini. Nei secoli XIV e XV Bonifacio e Cristoforo furono insigni legisti; Antonio medico e filosofo chiarissimo. La famiglia Galluzzi, inoltre, è ricordata per aver dato a Bologna una storia
