Antica casato siciliano, di chiara ed avita nobiltà, propagatosi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Le prime vestigia lasciate dalla famiglia, al dir del Mugnos, si rinvengono in Messina. Un Federico Aloisio, potente signore e rettore di detta città, infatti, all'entrata di Pietro d'Aragona, nel 1282, portò la briglia del di lui cavallo. Giovanni, del qu.
