Antica e cospicua famiglia friulana, discendente da un Razzotto vassallo dei conti di Porcia, che viveva sul finire del secolo XIII. Antonio pronipote di questo e figlio di un ser Cullossio da Porcia fu nel 1367 investito di feudo di abitanza nel castello di S. Vito. Il figlio Tano che diede il nome alla famiglia, fu nel 1415 podestà di S. Vito ed acquistò la giurisdizione di Passerizza, Versutta e Campomolin. Da Tano nacque Matteo, che nel 1460 addi 1 marzo comperò dai nobili di Salvarolo il castello omonimo, ciò che gli diè diritto ad un voto nel Parlamento friulano. Fu consigliere di stato dell' imperatore Federico III e da lui creato conte palatino e cavaliere con diploma 22 febbraio 1496 dato da Pordenone e conte del S.R.I. con diploma 6 luglio 1470 da Breetz.
