Si dice che questa famiglia discenda da Ottone, capitano di Porta Orientale, vivente nel sec. XII. In seguito alle lotte fra le varie fazioni dei Milanesi si sarebbe poi rifugiata a Cremia, terra sul lago di Como, situata fra i due castelli di Rezzonico e di Musso e ove nella chiesa parrocchiale possedeva una cappella di giuspatronato. Fu riconosciuta nella nobiltà con Sovrana Risoluzione 25 novembre 1816 a favore dell'avv. Giorgio di Giorgio e dei suoi cugini avv. Ignazio e sacerdoti Don Luigi e Don Giovanni, figli di Carlo. Le prove genealogiche allora prodotte risalivano al sec. XVI fino al Matteo, di Pietro abitante a Cremia (1576, 1577, 1586), dal quale fu generato Pietro (1577, 1586), padre di Giorgio abitante in Musso (1619, 1630, 1633), dal quale nacque Gio. Pietro (1650), che ebbe un figlio Gio. Battista (1696, 1720, 1721). Questi ebbe due figli: Giorgio (1749-1769), e Carlo (1724, 1749,
