Família siciliana antiga e muito nobre, com residência em Trapani, chamada Amari ou Amaro, cujo progenitor, segundo Mugnos, seria encontrado em um Leonardo, administrador do R. Palazzo e cavalheiro do quarto de Filipe III do Aragão. Indi, seu filho Filippo, era um cavalheiro na câmara da rainha Maria e concedeu o feudo de Gibilivasili, no território de Salemi, pelo rei Martino, em 1397. Nicolò era um cavaleiro no traje de S. Giacomo della Spada; Giacomo, filho do anterior, tinha o baronato de Marineo e Risalaimi; Antonio investiu-se nos feudos de Sullia, Ficuzza e Casaliccio, em 1550; Federico, dos feudos de Melia e Rinella, em 1549. Segue-se a genealogia de muitos outros barões ilustres e senhores ilustres, entre os quais, segundo Villabianca, há Michele, filho de Antonino, que, em 1722, investiu do concelho de S. Adriano; ele foi escolhido como Mestre Racional do Reino, homenageado com uma capa curta da R.
