Dal borgo di Ramé, Rami, Rameo situato tra Avolasca e Garbagna, oggi distinto in Ramero superiore i Ramero inferiore, ebbe origine una famiglia che del lugo assunse il nome e della quale si hanno notizie sin dalla prima metà del XIII sec.: a Pietro di Ramé e suoi eredi gli Opizzoni affittano nel 1124 una casa in Tortona a Porta S. Stefano; frate Pietro di R., che riteniamo ospite del convento di Rivalta, è dal 1242 al 1254 teste in vari istrumenti riprodotti negli omonimi Cartari; beni di Folco di R., forse figlio di Pietro, in Porta S. Stefano confinano con terreni donati il 19 giugno 1254 da Guglielmo Candelerio di Pavia a detto monastero; altre proprietà sono possedute da Rufino, Ganderio e Uberto di R. in Bubiano.Nell'elenco delle famiglie nobili fiorenti in Tortona l'anno 1293 e publlicato poi a Milano nel 1503 dal senatore Agostino Guidobono sono inclusi i
