La famiglia venne in Sicilia, ed in Trapani da Verona chiarissima Città d'Italia originata ivi della nobile, ed entica famiglia Nogaroli conforme l'accenna Giovanni Manente nella Cronica di Verona trattando delle famiglie nobili di quella, così egli ne scrive. L'antica famiglia Nogaroli partorì questa famiglia, Rati, e Poeti. Le quali tutti spiegarono sempre un arma, cioè una Banda d'oro in campo azzurro con un Aquila nera in coronata dentro con due testudini verdi nell'unghi rossi, ch'accenna gettarle sopra un capo calvo posta, sopra un grosso sasso azzurro, e nelle margini della banda due filetti d'argento. Queste si delatarono in molti luoghi d'Italia, ed in Sicilia, ove Guglielmo Morfino de' Nogaroli habitator di Savona servendo per compagno à Ruggier Paruta, ed essendo da quello amato passò con lui in quest'Isola nel 1428. Dal quale fù eletto Capitano degli fabrici Regij, il cui ufficio l'hebbe egli confirmato da don Antonio di Cardona
