In un antico testo araldico, compreso nell'opera "Discorsi delle famiglie estinte, forastiere, o non comprese ne' seggi di Napoli, imparentate colla Casa della Marra", edito in Napoli, nel 1646, leggiamo: "Iporegia, altrimenti chiamata Iurea, Cittá insigne nel Piemonte, fu patria di Perretto Andrei, Conte di Troia, e d'Ascoli. E fu fattura di Re Carlo III. Ma nientemente caro poi a Re Ladislao, che lo fece del Consiglio, Maresciallo del Regno e Signor d'un grande Stato, nel quale venivano comprese: oltre il Contadi di Troia, e d'Ascoli. Manfredonia, Canosa, Delicito, S. Agato, Zucolo, Minorbino, Corato, Tresati, Motellari, e altri: e gli diede il carico di Gran Sinescallo, e finalmente di suo Capitan generale col conte di Troia vennero da Iurea, fimilmente in servizio della Corona di Napoli, Antonio di Liperolo, Cavaliere e Bonifacio di Taliardo, alli quali Re Ladislao l'anno 1490 aveva conceduta la Bagliva di Manfredonia.
