Antica famiglia di origine tirolese, detta Adriani, Andriani, Andran o Andrini, la quale appare, per la prima volta, in documenti coi fratelli Morandino ed Enrico, di Andrian. Insignita dell'incolato tirolese del 1361, ottenne il titolo di barone del S.R.I. dall'imp. Leopoldo con diploma dato a Vienna li 27 agosto 1692 a favore dei fratelli e cugini Nicolò, Giovanni Giuseppe, Carlo Tomaso, Francesco Giuseppe Massimiliano e Francesco Elia. Nel 1812, 3 ottobre, la famiglia fu immatricolata nella classe baronale del Regno di Baviera (Freiherrl. Taschenbuch Gotha, 1920). Un ramo di essa si stabilì a S. Giorgio di Nogaro (Udine) nella persona del barone Ferdinando fu Massimiliano (n. 1789 dec. 1843), erede dei beni di sua madre contessa Antonia Novelli, posti in quel territorio.
