De origen germánico, reconoce por la jamba de la puerta Annichino de Boumgarten, un valiente capitán del siglo XIV. Un hijo de Gioberto, Annichino, trasplantó a la familia a Nápoles, donde se extinguió. Una rama también floreció en Florencia; todavía existe una tercera rama en Bagnacavallo, trasplantada allí en 1471. Otra rama de Nápoles tenía como arma: azul, con una vuelta dorada, moviéndose desde el lado izquierdo, redondeada y clavada hacia la punta. La familia participó en la historia de Nápoles y sus eventos en el pasado, contribuyendo no poco a la nobleza y las oficinas institucionales de la misma ciudad, realizadas por los reyes que reinaron en el Ducado de Nápoles. Muchos reinos han pasado por esta provincia bizantina, gobernada por un dux. En 638, Nápoles dependía del gobernador de Sicilia y luego fue gobernado directamente por el emperador.
