Costui successe al padre nel Contado di Capizzi,ed hebbe oltre nel 1265 i Contadi d'Alba,di Ceiano e della Calabria Citra chiamata anticamente Brutia. Fù questo non puoco amato della Reina Costanza moglie del Re Pietro d'Aragona sua cugina, perilche il Re gli diede duo Castelli nella Catalogna Albaide, e Carribili, Federico che successe ne' Stati paterni, Bartolomeo che fu Arcivescovo di Palermo nel 1395 e Francesco anche Arcivescovo nel 1311 al Federico che morì
