Famiglia triestina, di antica e nobile tradizione, nata dalla unione di due famiglie nobili: gli Apostolo, o Apostoli, di Roma e i Pangos, o Panges, di Metz, in Francia. I primi, menzionati nell'Enciclopedia Storico Nobiliare del marchese Vittorio Spreti, ebbero la nobiltà riconosciuta tra il '600 ed il 1700, anno in cui lo storico Teodoro Amayden eseguì le sue ricerche e compose "Ragguaglio di tutte le nobiltà delle famiglie antiche et moderne di Roma... et famiglie straniere. Fondo Vaticano n.7957, fol. 58". I secondi, il cui esser compresi ne "L'Armorial Général" ne testimonia l'indiscutibile valore e fama, furono nobilitati con lettere patenti del 1626, ed ebbero il titolo di Marchesi de Pange, nel 1766.
