This surname, as its name indicates, comes from Aragon. Mosén Jaime Febrer says that from Jaca he went on to conquer Valencia, serving the King Don Jaime I of Aragon, the knight Juan A., who led the squares of Alcoy (Alicante) and Agullent (Valencia). He then went on to the present-day city of Villajoyosa (Alicante), where he did a lot of damage to the Moors, defeating them also in the towns of Calpe and Altea, in the province of Alicante. Finally he settled in this capital, where he founded a house and left successors.
