El más antídoto de esta familia que conoció la genalogía es Fernão Gonçalves, que vivió en el reinado de D. Pedro I de Portugal, quien le habló de la finca de Sousel en Évora. A la muerte del Rey D. Fernando, se puso del lado del Mestre de Avis, y fue tan estimado por los vecinos de Évora que, en las Cortes de Coimbra, lo eligieron capitán y pidieron al soberano que lo tomara como su consejero, del que se desprende,
