Ancienne et très noble famille d'origine espagnole du royaume de Léon avec des branches familiales réparties au Portugal et en Italie. Une succursale a déménagé à Sassari au début du siècle. XVI avec un Francesco, un officier qui s'est fait un nom en combattant les Turcs. Dans les décennies suivantes, ils bifurquèrent vers Alghero et Ozieri et furent admis au poste militaire en 1558, pendant le parlement du Madrigal. En 1594, ils obtinrent la reconnaissance de la noblesse avec un neveu Giovanni de Francesco: ses enfants formaient différentes branches de la famille. Francesco a continué à résider à Sassari et en 1609 il a acheté la baronnie des montagnes de Ravaneda, mais ses descendants s'éteignirent au cours du 17ème siècle et le fief fut hérité aux Manca.
