Antiga e muito nobre família de origem espanhola do reino de Leão com ramos familiares espalhou-se por Portugal e Itália. Um ramo mudou-se para Sassari no início do século. XVI com um Francesco, um oficial que fez seu nome lutando contra os turcos. Nas décadas seguintes, eles se ramificaram para Alghero e Ozieri e foram admitidos na estação militar em 1558, durante o parlamento Madrigal. Em 1594 eles obtiveram o reconhecimento da nobreza com um sobrinho Giovanni de Francesco: seus filhos formaram diferentes ramos da família. Francesco continuou a residir em Sassari e em 1609 comprou o Baronato das montanhas de Ravaneda, mas seus descendentes morreram no decorrer do século 17 e o feudo foi herdado dos Manca. Matteo deu continuidade à família, alguns de seus filhos se envolveram no caso do Marquês do Cea. Um deles, um Giovanni, casado com um Guiò, mudou-se para Alghero onde os seus descendentes

In Sardegna ha per arma: uno scudo ovale d'argento in cui è raffigurata l'arca di Noé, sulle onde del mare, sul cui tetto è posata una colomba con un ramo d'ulivo nel becco, tutto al naturale; lo scudo accollato all'aquila bicipite di nero avente tra i colli un elmo d'argento in maestà con due bandierine per cimiero.
