La familia Hardisson, A. o Ardizone, es originaria de la República de Génova y se estableció en Francia en el siglo XVII. Don Augusto María Benito A. y Raphäel, fue Cónsul de Grecia en la capital del Archipiélago canario y Cabellaro de la Real y Distinguida Orden de Carlos III. Nació, en Cassis, departamento de las Bocas del Ródano, en Francia, el 22 de marzo de 1824. Era hijo de Jean Jacques A., también de Cassis y de su legítima mujer Emile Maríe Raphäel y nieto de Jean Louis A.. Don Augusto A. casó con Doña María del Carmen Espou y Valdespino, habiendo en su matrimonio once hijos, que han continuado la línea de este ilustre linaje en Canarias.
