Famiglia cagliaritana di probabile origine catalana le cui notizie risalgono al sec. XVI. Apparteneva alla borghesia e godeva di una notevole considerazione per gli uffici pubblici che i suoi membri ricoprivano. Nel 1553 ottennero il cavalierato ereditario e la nobiltà con un Sigismondo avvocato fiscale del regno nel 1556. Negli stessi anni gli Arquer furono coinvolti nelle fazioni dell'aristocrazia cagliaritana e furono tra i principali avversari degli Aymerich. La famiglia si estinse alla fine del sec. XVI. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio.
