Con riferimenti di storici dell'epoca e di altri trovati da Araldis in città e altri file del registro privato, potremmo affermare, ma non assicurare, che questo scudo o un altro molto simile ad esso, sia apparso inizialmente dall'XI al XIV secolo, in particolare in la scorta del re di Castiglia, D. Fernando el Santo, che conobbe sua madre nel 1245 in un luogo chiamato Pozuelo, dove in seguito fu fondata Ciudad Real.
